Discovery

As time went on I felt stronger.
Yet I was discovering strange things that did not make sense, like the bite mark on my side that seemed to have bled at some point but had stopped now.
My hearing seemed to be clearer in some ways and weaker in others, or perhaps I was just noticing some things that passed me by before, such as breathing or light foot steps which I wouldn’t have noticed before but now sounded clear as day.
I could smell flesh and blood.
I no longer had to breath.
Several suns had come and gone and and it felt like I was forgetting something, until I noticed a girl in the lobby eating.
Why was I not hungry yet?
Everything seemed new to me and yet there was a strange familiarity.
As I left the university I followed the shadows as an attempt to go unnoticed, but unnoticed by whom I was unsure as the place seemed deserted, and for what reason I had yet to find out.
Why had the men in the hall tried to kill me?

I wandered past a shop where a larger mirror stood in the window,
When I looked in the mirror my skin was waxy and absent of colour apart from the dust on the left side of my face from where
Was I sick?
I felt fine now but I remembered the pain I had been in as I lay on the floor, in fact I was starting to feel better then before.
My strength seemed to come not from actually being physically stronger but through not feeling pain.

I started heading wandering down the road again, unable to recall where I was.
Searching for the hospital, which I envisioned to be surrounded by people. Going in and coming out.

Over several days what must have been hundreds of men women and children I attacked, I continued to search. Each time I came across someone new the same scene would take place;
A sort of frenzy would encapsulate me, all thoughts would leave my mind, I was a predator and I attacked.

With each sun the moments the frenzy took over me seemed to lessen.

Its at this point I somehow realised that I wouldn’t reach the hospital, as each person who I had seen either ran from me causing me to chase them down or had come running towards me with the objective to kill me.
Either way had resulted in the same way, me biting them and them rolling around on the ground in agony.
Would I be able to control myself at the hospital?
And if I did what would they do for me?
I was in no pain, in fact I felt better then ever.
I was not sick.
And my reasons for heading to the hospital seemed redundant,
So I found somewhere safe to hide.
